OK, this one is so common that I almost forgot it….for those raised in areas of the country where it snows in winter, the holidays simply do not seem the same without snow on the ground. In fact, for some individuals, without snow it simply is not a holiday time.
As an individual who was raised in Iowa, snow on the ground was certainly common during the holidays. In fact, I can’t remember a Christmas without snow on the ground, the temperatures below freezing, and the furnace working overtime. And, now that I am living in a more temperate climate where (at least at this time) we do not have snow on the ground, I can fully appreciate the feeling that it simply is not the holidays without snow.

Practical Methods for Treating Depression and Substance Abuse Simultaneously
The National Institute For Holistic Addiction Studies (NIFHAS) reviewed outcomes of four substance abuse treatment participants who had participated in the program Drumming Off Drugsâ„¢ as part of their treatment experience. Specifically, we looked at changes in the Depression Scores using Becks Depression Inventory prior to the 10 session drumming class and then after completion of at least 8 of the 10 sessions.

Rockers In Recovery is looking forward to broadcasting live from the 12 Step Music Fest along with the great artists that are performing over 4 days along with the folks from across the country that will be attending.
The 12 Step Music Fest is promoting music, fun and harmony among fellowships. We will have floating meetings, yes meetings in the ocean, and bring your rafts and noodles!! There will be 3 - 24 hour marathon tents for all fellowships and special interest meetings.
There will be a children’s tent with crafts and activities all day as well. The KOA has a beach and volleyball, pool and hot tub, as well as showers and bathrooms. Food and recovery merchandise vendors will be on site as well.
